Sports News: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made a new history in international cricket. In the first T20 International match between India and South Africa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Bumrah achieved this feat, which no Indian bowler has been able to accomplish until now. Bumrah has now become the first Indian bowler to take 100 or more wickets in Test, ODI, and T20 International formats.
In this historic match, India decisively defeated South Africa by 101 runs, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. Batting first, India set a target of 176 for South Africa. In response, the entire African team could not withstand the Indian bowlers and was dismissed for just 74 runs. This is South Africa’s lowest score in T20 International cricket to date.
Bumrah Completes His T20 International Century
In this match, Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets. As soon as he dismissed Dewald Brevis, he completed 100 wickets in T20 International cricket. With this, he became the second Indian bowler to reach this milestone in the format. Arshdeep Singh achieved this feat earlier this year. Currently, the list of most wicket-takers in T20 Internationals for India is as follows:
- Arshdeep Singh – 107 wickets
- Jasprit Bumrah – 101 wickets
- Hardik Pandya – 99 wickets
- Yuzvendra Chahal – 96 wickets
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 90 wickets
These figures clearly show that Bumrah is also one of India’s most reliable bowlers in limited-overs cricket.
