India Beat England Under 19 Team: The Indian Under-19 cricket team put up a b performance on English soil, winning the five-match ODI series. In the fourth match, India defeated England by 55 runs and secured an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. The heroes of this victory were Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihan Malhotra, whose magnificent centuries dismantled the English challenge.
Winning the toss, the Indian team elected to bat first and lost their first wicket at just 14 runs. However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihan Malhotra then displayed brilliant batting, giving the English bowlers no chance. The two batsmen shared a record-breaking partnership of 219 runs for the second wicket, putting India in a b position.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Storm
Vaibhav Suryavanshi played in an explosive manner against England, scoring a century in just 52 balls. He played an innings of 143 runs off 78 balls, including 13 fours and 10 sixes. His strike rate was 183.97, which shattered the confidence of the English bowlers. On the other end, Vihan Malhotra also showed a fine balance of patience and aggression, scoring 129 runs off 121 balls. His innings included 15 fours and three sixes. Vihan scored runs at a strike rate of nearly 107, providing a solid foundation for India's innings.
Thanks to these two batsmen, the Indian team scored 363 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs, setting a huge target of 364 runs for England. Apart from Vaibhav and Vihan, Abhigyan Kundu contributed 23 runs, but the other batsmen could not do much.
England Under-19 Team's Excellent Start
Chasing the target, the England Under-19 team had a very b start. Openers Ben Daikin and Joseph Murrees shared a solid partnership of 119 runs and also put pressure on India. Daikin scored 67 runs, while Joseph Murrees played an innings of 52 runs. In the middle order, Rocky Flintoff played excellent batting, scoring a century of 107 runs off 91 balls and kept the match exciting. But the other batsmen could not face the Indian bowlers and the England team was all out for 308 runs in 45.3 overs.
The Indian bowlers made a brilliant comeback under pressure. Naman Pushpak took three wickets, conceding 58 runs in 10 overs, while RS Ambrish took 2 important wickets, putting an end to England's hopes. Besides, Saurav Satish, Prakhar Tyagi and Saksham Tiwari also got 1-1 success. With this win, the Indian Under-19 team not only won the series, but also gave a great demonstration of their depth and skill in England. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was selected as the Player of the Match for his storming innings.
