The match between the Indian men's hockey team and Belgium in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 has been postponed due to heavy rain. This encounter was originally scheduled to be played on Monday, but due to adverse weather, it has been shifted to the next day, Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Sports News: The Indian hockey team had a brilliant start to the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025, defeating Korea 1-0 in their opening match. After an excellent start, the team was about to play their second match against Belgium today when sudden heavy rain interrupted the game. The continuous rainfall worsened conditions, making it impossible to proceed with the match. Consequently, the fixture has been postponed and will now be played again at its rescheduled time on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Rain Becomes the Biggest Obstacle for the Match

The match between the Indian team and Belgium began as scheduled, but just three minutes into the game, heavy rain disrupted play. Organizers later attempted to restart the match at 8:45 PM, but due to no improvement in the weather, it was completely postponed. Organizers stated that the Indian men's hockey team's match against Belgium will now be played on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

The postponement of the match due to rain was disappointing for both players and spectators. However, the Indian team had showcased their strength with an excellent performance in their first match.

Blazing Start Against Korea

The Indian team had a magnificent start to the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025, defeating South Korea 1-0 in their opening match. Against Korea, Indian players maintained pressure from the initial seconds, consistently creating goal-scoring opportunities. Before the first quarter concluded, Mohammed Raheel capitalized on a superb team move to score. This proved to be the only goal, and India secured three points by overcoming Korea.

The team's performance boosted enthusiasm among spectators and hockey fans. The Indian players' strategy and speed on the field proved that the team is emerging as a b contender in the tournament.

India's Position in the Points Table

In the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 points table, the New Zealand team holds the first position. They have played two matches so far, with a record of one win and one draw, accumulating a total of four points. The Malaysian team is in second place, also with four points. India, having played only one match and secured a win, is in third place. The Belgium team is currently in fourth position.
