SPORTS NEWS: The news of the death of Jujutsu player Rohini Kalam (35), who had represented India in the Asian Games, has left the entire nation stunned. Her body was found hanging from a noose at her home in Arjun Nagar, Radhaganj area of Dewas city, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday. According to preliminary information, her younger sister Roshni Kalam found Rohini in this state in the room and immediately took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
This tragic incident has plunged not only Dewas but the entire sports fraternity into deep sorrow. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, while the sports community has expressed deep condolences on the untimely demise of the player.
Details of the Incident
According to the information, on Sunday morning, Rohini's younger sister Roshni Kalam went to the room and found the door locked from the inside. When the door was forced open, Rohini's body was found hanging from a noose inside. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. No other family member was present at home at the time of the incident. Rohini's mother had gone out for a pilgrimage (Dev Darshan) with another daughter, while her father was also out for some work.
According to the family, Rohini had been under mental stress for some time. She was working as a martial arts coach at a private school in Ashta. Her sister Roshni stated that Rohini was disturbed due to some school-related reasons. She had returned to her home in Dewas only on Saturday. On Sunday morning, she had tea and breakfast as usual, spoke on the phone, and then went to her room. After this, the tragic incident occurred.
Currently, the police have registered a case of suicide. No suicide note has been found at the scene. The Bank Note Press police station in Dewas is investigating the matter.
