Indian Railways Implements Special Arrangements for Kanwariyas During Sawan

In anticipation of the increasing crowds of Kanwariyas during Sawan, the Railways has made special arrangements at key stations, including Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, with special trains, sattvik food, and enhanced security.

UP Railway: With the commencement of Sawan, groups of Kanwariyas have begun their journey towards pilgrimage sites like Deoghar and Kashi. To facilitate passengers, the Railways has initiated the operation of special trains. Comprehensive arrangements have been made at several stations, including Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, for sattvik food, medical services, and enhanced security. Digital platforms have also been provided to simplify ticket booking for passengers.

Railways Makes Special Arrangements

As the holy month of Sawan begins, devotees of Shiva are flocking from various parts of the country towards the sacred sites of Kashi and Deoghar for Jalabhishek (offering water to the deity). The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Junction, situated on the Delhi-Howrah rail route, in particular, is experiencing a surge in the number of Kanwariyas. Keeping in mind the convenience of these devotees, the Railways has made special arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe journey.

Special Trains Running for Shravani Mela

According to the East Central Railway, Hajipur Zone, more than three dozen Shravani Mela Special trains are being operated for Jasidih (Deoghar). In addition, the stoppage time of more than six trains has been extended at Jasidih station to facilitate the boarding and alighting of devotees.

A stop has also been provided for four pairs of additional trains at SultanGanj station. This aims to provide maximum convenience to the Kanwariyas going to Baidyanath Dham.

DDU Junction Becomes a Major Hub

Several trains pass through DDU Junction, en route to Deoghar and Jasidih. A significant increase in passenger numbers is observed on these routes during Sawan. According to railway officials, this crowd persists throughout the entire Sawan month. Keeping this in mind, comprehensive arrangements have been made at the station, keeping in mind the needs of the passengers.

DRM of the Rail Division Provides Information

Uday Singh Meena, DRM of DDU Rail Division, stated that special arrangements have been made at major stations like Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, along with Dehri On Sone, Sasaram, and Gaya. Railway Protection Force teams have been activated for the safety of passengers, and trains are being operated under their close supervision.

Medical Facilities and Alert Medical Teams

The Railways has put the medical team on alert. Emergency medical facilities have been made available within the station premises to provide immediate treatment in any situation. The safety and health of passengers have been given priority.

Ticket Booking Facility through Digital Means

To simplify ticket booking, the Railways has started providing facilities to obtain tickets with the help of ATVM (Automated Ticket Vending Machine) and mobile apps. This will save passengers from the hassle of standing in queues and also save time.

Arrangements for Sattvik Food for Kanwariyas

The Railways has arranged for sattvik food for the Kanwariyas at DDU Junction and other major stations. This food is being prepared keeping in mind religious traditions. Special attention has been given to ensure that passengers receive clean and nutritious food.
