Despite heightened geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran, Indian equity markets are indicated to open on a positive note on Thursday after witnessing a sharp decline on Wednesday amid global uncertainty.
According to early market indicators, GIFT Nifty traded about 0.35 percent higher in pre-open trading, signalling a positive start for domestic equities. However, market participants are expected to monitor global developments, foreign investor activity and fluctuations in crude oil prices, which could influence investor sentiment during the trading session.
Analysts said escalating tensions in the Middle East could affect global investors' risk appetite. Alongside international developments, investors will also track the first-quarter (Q1) financial results of several major companies, which could play a significant role in determining market direction.
Several companies are scheduled to announce their Q1 results for FY2026-27 on Thursday. Market focus will remain on Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Other companies reporting earnings include Anand Rathi Wealth, Asian Hotels (East), Cupid Breweries & Distilleries, Aimco Elecon (India), GM Breweries, Gujarat Hotels and Supreme Infrastructure India.
The financial results are expected to provide an indication of current business conditions across their respective sectors, along with management outlooks for the coming quarters.
