Israel-Iran War: The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has taken another dangerous turn. Late Friday night, Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones against Israel, initiating "Operation True Promise-3". This attack is a response to recent Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. Tehran described it as revenge for the deaths of Iranian military personnel and civilians.

Explosions in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv

A series of explosions were heard in Jerusalem, followed by air raid sirens. Israel's defense systems immediately activated, attempting to intercept the missiles, but several reached their targets. Reports indicate attacks in nine areas across central Israel, resulting in at least 15 injuries.

Iranian Media Claims: Over 150 Missiles Fired

Iranian state media reported that over 150 missiles were launched towards Israel during this operation. Drones and other advanced weaponry were also used. Media reports claim that an Israeli pilot has been captured.

Iranian Military Statement: This is Retaliation

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement saying the attack was in response to 'aggressive and terrorist' attacks by Israel within Iranian territory. The statement said, "Following the attack on our military and nuclear facilities, we have carried out this precise and planned retaliatory action."

Operation True Promise-3: Attack Launched on Eid Night

The IRGC stated that this operation was launched on the night of Eid al-Ghadir, considered a sacred occasion in the Islamic world. The attack commenced with the sacred invocation 'Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib'. The Iranian military claims that dozens of military centers, airports, and sensitive sites were targeted.

Statement by Iran's Supreme Leader

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a statement saying, "The Zionist regime has made a grave mistake. The Iranian people stand with their armed forces, and this enemy will pay for its crimes. We will destroy them."

Women, Children, and Scientists Killed in Israeli Strikes

According to Iranian media, the Israeli targets included four nuclear scientists, senior military officials, and numerous civilians. The deaths of women and children were also confirmed. Reports also emerged of the deaths of Iranian General Mohammad Bagheri and the IRGC's aerospace chief.

Israel's Response: Red Lines Crossed

In response to Iran's missile attacks, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement that their air defense systems are active and instructed the public to remain in safe locations. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, "Iran has crossed red lines by attacking civilian areas. The response will be very harsh."

Amidst these developments, a phone conversation took place between former US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This marks the second time in two days that the two leaders have discussed the issue. An official US response is pending, but ongoing discussions between the two countries are underway.
