External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke with US Senator Marco Rubio about the Pahalgam attack, demanding the perpetrators be brought to justice; the US expressed its support for India.

Pahalgam Attack: India is fully committed to bringing to justice those responsible for and supporting the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar discussed the matter with US Senator Marco Rubio late at night.

Hours after this conversation, Jaishankar shared a post on his Twitter account, 'X', stating, "Those responsible for, supporting, and planning the Pahalgam terrorist attack must be brought to justice. This heinous attack was cross-border in origin, and India is committed to ensuring they face severe punishment."

US Support and Appeal to Pakistan

US Senator Marco Rubio expressed condolences to Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar regarding the attack and assured India of full support in the fight against terrorism. He also appealed to Pakistan to cooperate in the investigation and work with India against terrorism. Rubio also urged both countries to de-escalate tensions to maintain peace.

Joint Message from the US and India

Hours after the incident, US President Donald Trump called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and bly condemned the terrorist attack. Trump pledged all possible assistance to India, stating, "The US stands with India in the fight against terrorism."

Responding to this, Prime Minister Modi said, "India is fully committed to bringing to justice those responsible for and supporting this cowardly and heinous terrorist attack."

India's Strong Stance Against Pakistan

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 resulted in the loss of 22 civilian lives. Following this incident, India has adopted a b stance against Pakistan and has taken several steps to enhance internal security. Additionally, India has appealed to its citizens residing in Pakistan to return immediately.
