Janhvi Kapoor Reacts to 'Param Sundari' Being Compared to 'Chennai Express'

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming film 'Param Sundari' is currently in the news. Since the trailer's release, viewers have been comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's blockbuster film 'Chennai Express'.

Entertainment: Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is currently in the headlines regarding her upcoming film 'Param Sundari'. Her pairing with Sidharth Malhotra will be seen on the big screen for the first time. Since the release of the film's trailer, it has been linked to the superhit film 'Chennai Express'.

Janhvi Kapoor has now openly spoken about this comparison and said that she considers it a compliment, although the story and characters of both films are completely different from each other.

Janhvi Kapoor Said - I Love 'Chennai Express'

In a recent conversation with Mirchi Plus, Janhvi said, "I love 'Chennai Express' very much. This film came out 10 years ago and is still alive in people's hearts. If someone compares our film to such a big and successful film, then I consider it a compliment." She also added that "Even though both films are connected to South India in the background, the story, characters, and their emotions are completely different. Our film depicts a different environment."

Regarding the comparison, Janhvi Kapoor further said that Deepika Padukone played the character of a Tamilian girl in 'Chennai Express', while she is playing the role of a half-Tamil and half-Malayali girl in 'Param Sundari'. She clarified that it is not right to put South India in the same frame because every state and culture has its own distinct identity.

Janhvi said, "I am from Kerala in the film and this character represents the culture there. People should understand that South India is not just filled with similar stories, but there is a lot of diversity there."

Happy to be Compared to 'Chennai Express'

Janhvi Kapoor believes that films like 'Chennai Express' that become so popular do not come out every year. She said, "'2 States' was also a film with a different concept, but it came after 'Chennai Express'. If our film is being compared to a film that is still memorable today, then it is a positive sign for us."
