Entertainment: 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' (TMKOC), one of the longest-running and most talked-about comedy shows on Indian television, has recently completed 17 years of its broadcast. This show has created a special place in the hearts of Indian viewers not only in the country but all over the world. But amidst this popularity, a question remains in people's minds—why did Disha Vakani, aka 'Dayaben', leave the show?
Now the answer to this question has come to the fore. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, a former artist of the show and who played the role of 'Mrs. Roshan', has made a big disclosure about the real reason for Disha Vakani's departure from the show.
Jennifer Mistry Reveals the Reason for Disha's Exit from the Show
Disha Vakani's character of 'Dayaben' was not only the life of the show, but this role became so popular that it became an iconic character of Indian television. However, after her pregnancy in 2017, Disha took a long break from the show and never returned. During this time, the team of producer Asit Modi contacted Disha several times for her return. The audience was also given hope of her return to the show several times, but this return never happened.
Recently, in an interview given to Pinkvilla, Jennifer Mistry shared many things about Disha Vakani. She said that, “During my pregnancy, I took a break from the show and requested the makers not to replace me. I pleaded with them, but my request was not heard. In the same context, when asked about Disha Vakani, Jennifer revealed that, “The makers of the show also pleaded with Disha. They requested her several times even after delivery, but Disha did not return.
Disha's Priorities Were Different – Family and Personal Life
When Jennifer was asked if Disha also left the show due to the toxic atmosphere of the show, she said, “Disha was a very private person. Even if she had any dispute with anyone, we would not know about it. Yes, it was definitely there that she gave a lot of importance to her family and always wanted to get married and settle down.”
Jennifer further told that during Disha's pregnancy, she was given a lot of convenience during shooting. She was forbidden from climbing stairs, so she was brought up on the set on a stretcher-like device.
Will 'Dayaben' Ever Return Now?
This is the biggest question for the audience—will Disha Vakani return as 'Dayaben' again? In the past years, the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi has said many times that he is interested in Disha's return, but every time it has been said that she is not ready due to her health and family circumstances. At the same time, suspense has been created regarding Dayaben's return in the show many times, but that was only for TRP.
Disha Vakani is not the only one who has left this show. In the past few years, many popular actors have said goodbye to the show, including names like Bhavya Gandhi (Tappu), Gurucharan Singh (Sodhi), Neha Mehta (old Anjali), Shailesh Lodha (old Taarak Mehta) and now Jennifer Mistry (Mrs. Roshan).
