According to the team, the Deputy Director had locked himself in his cabin at his office in Sipri Bazaar, but the team managed to get him out and took him away. Braj Mohan Mishra, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, alleged that the Deputy Director had demanded a total bribe of ₹65,000 for the revision of his retirement pension. On Monday, he demanded the first installment of ₹30,000, and it was during this transaction that the Anti-Corruption team took action.
Action by the Anti-Corruption Team
The Anti-Corruption team carried out this raid on the instructions of the government. The team inspected the Mandi Parishad office located at the bus stand along with the victimized employee. During this, the Deputy Director accepted the first installment in the form of ₹30,000. As soon as the amount was received, the team apprehended the Deputy Director red-handed.
An official from the team stated that following this action, the Deputy Director was taken to the Sipri Bazaar police station. Interrogation is ongoing at the police station, and necessary legal action is being taken. This action is being viewed as a stern warning against corruption within the Mandi Parishad.
