Jharkhand is expected to witness changing weather conditions over the next six days, from September 29 to October 4. The Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for rain in different parts of the state during this period. Several areas may receive moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and b winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
According to the Meteorological Centre’s forecast, rainfall is likely in Kolhan and adjoining areas of southern Jharkhand, as well as several parts of central Jharkhand, on September 29. Ranchi and nearby districts may also receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.
Wind speeds may reach 30 to 40 kilometres per hour during this period. The weather department has advised people to remain alert during adverse weather conditions.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of Jharkhand on September 30 and October 1. Thunderstorms and b winds may also occur during this period.
On October 2, the impact of rainfall is expected to be seen in the eastern parts of the state. Rainfall is particularly likely in Santhal Pargana and adjoining areas.
According to the weather department, several places in northeastern Jharkhand and adjoining central areas may receive heavy rainfall on October 3. Strong winds are also likely, with wind speeds potentially reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
Heavy rainfall is also expected at several places in northeastern Jharkhand on October 4. In view of the possibility of continued rainfall, the Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert until October 4.
Rainfall was recorded in the outskirts of Ranchi on Sunday, with sunshine appearing at several intervals. According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi recorded around 6 mm of rainfall. The rainfall kept the weather pleasant during the day, while the sky remained cloudy.
However, the appearance of sunshine for some time during the rainfall also led to humid conditions. Other parts of the state also recorded rainfall. Jamshedpur received around 4 mm and Daltonganj around 2 mm of rainfall.
According to the weather department, the impact of rainfall may vary across different parts of Jharkhand over the coming days. In view of the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, b winds and rainfall in southern, central and northeastern areas, special caution has been advised.
People have been advised to avoid going to open areas during adverse weather conditions and to pay attention to local weather alerts. During the yellow alert issued until October 4, weather conditions will need to be monitored for further changes.
