JMM Workers Unanimously Endorse Somesh Soren for Ghatshila By-election

Following the demise of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) minister Ramdas Soren, his eldest son Somesh Soren is now set to inherit his political legacy. Party workers have unanimously endorsed Somesh for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election.

Ranchi: Following the passing of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) minister Ramdas Soren, his eldest son Somesh Soren will now contest the by-election from the Ghatshila Assembly constituency. The Ghatshila Assembly Committee has unanimously announced Somesh Soren's name, and the state high command has also been informed of this decision. This resolution was made during a meeting held at the Majhi Pargana Mahal Bhavan in Pawa, Ghatshila.

Party officials and workers from Ghatshila, Dhalbhumgarh, Musabani, and Gudabanda were present at this meeting. This indicates that the party has begun preparations for the by-election with unity across the entire district.

Workers Announce Candidate

An important meeting was organized at the Majhi Pargana Mahal Bhavan in Pawa regarding the Ghatshila by-election. JMM officials and workers from the Ghatshila, Dhalbhumgarh, Musabani, and Gudabanda blocks participated in this meeting. It was unanimously decided that the late minister's son, Somesh Soren, would be the candidate.

Purvi Singhbhum District Convenor Major, Bagharay Mardi, stated that while the central committee's decision will come later, the local workers' opinion is clear – they want Somesh Soren to become the MLA.

Pledge to Fulfill Father's Dreams

After his father's demise, Somesh Soren pledged to carry forward his incomplete plans. He wrote on social media that his aim is to understand the region's problems and find permanent solutions for them. He began his political journey by paying respects to his father's photograph and seeking his mother's blessings. Furthermore, bowing to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, he stated that he would work with the party workers for the development of the region.

One doesn't learn politics; circumstances propel a person forward. - Somesh Soren Jharkhand's political landscape has a tradition where, if an MLA or minister passes away, a family member is often inducted into the cabinet. Following the death of late minister Jagannath Mahto, his wife Baby Devi was given a place in the cabinet. After the demise of Haji Hussain Ansari, his son Hafizul Hasan became a minister.

In this context, it is being speculated that if Somesh Soren wins the by-election, he might also be offered a ministerial position. The party's district committee has also officially conveyed this demand to the high command.
