Civil Judge J.J. Pawar of the 12th Junior Division of Pune has taken cognizance of the matter and issued summons to the film's lead actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and the producers to appear in court on August 28. The petitioners have also demanded a stay on the film's release.
Teaser Controversy: Insult to Lawyers and Judges?
Advocates Wajed Khan (Bidkar) and Ganesh Mhaske stated in the petition that the film's teaser presents lawyers and judges in a derogatory and humorous manner. The petitioners claim that the film's producers and actors are mocking the legal profession under the guise of 'creative freedom'. The teaser shows Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi wearing lawyers' bands and arguing in court in a situation resembling a family feud.
Advocate Wajed Khan said that in the teaser, all the lawyers are addressing the judges as 'Mamu' (a slang term for fool), which is demeaning to the dignity of the judiciary. Furthermore, showing lawyers arguing inconsistently and humorously in court is disrespectful to the entire legal community. According to police and legal experts, such petitions often create controversy before the release of a film and teaser, which focuses media and public attention on the film.
Jolly LLB 3: When and How Will It Be Released?
The teaser of Jolly LLB 3 was recently released, and the film is scheduled to hit the big screen on September 19. The film is being presented by Star Studios18, while it is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. Produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare, the film stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi along with Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Gajraj Rao in lead roles.
