Kanpur: In the Chakeri police station area, a hotel owner forcibly raped a female employee after holding her captive. Following the victim's complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under serious sections of threat and rape, arrested him, and sent him to jail. This incident has caused a sensation throughout the area.
According to police sources, the accused hotel owner, Manoj Patel, is a resident of Adarsh Nagar. At the time of the incident, the victim was at the hotel, and the accused grabbed her, took her to a room, and held her captive.
Harassment During Employment at Hotel
The victim stated that she had been working at Hotel Twinkle Galaxy for the past year. For several months, Manoj Patel had been forcibly pressuring her to accept his friendship and romantic proposals. Even when the victim refused, the accused continued to harass her relentlessly.
The victim said that due to family constraints, she had to continue her job, but the accused's acts of harassment escalated. During this time, he repeatedly tried to intimidate her with threats.
Forcibly Taken to Room and Raped
Last Wednesday night, the accused Manoj Patel arrived at the hotel and forcibly took the victim to a room. When she resisted, the accused tied her hands and feet, held her captive, and then raped her. The accused threatened to kill her if she told anyone and then fled the scene.
Police Station In-charge Santosh Shukla informed that based on the victim's complaint, a case was registered under sections of threat and rape, and a search for the accused was initiated.
Accused Manoj Patel Arrested
The police arrested the accused Manoj Patel near PAC Morh and presented him in court. The court sent him to jail. The police are now thoroughly investigating the matter and trying to ascertain if the accused has committed similar acts with any other woman before. The police stated that swift action would be taken in such cases, and all possible steps would be taken to ensure justice for the victims.
