Kashi Rudras registered a magnificent victory by 8 wickets in this encounter to claim the title. Batting first in the match, Meerut Mavericks scored only 144 runs in 20 overs, which Kashi Rudras easily chased down.
Meerut Mavericks had a weak start
Meerut Mavericks' regular captain Rinku Singh had already departed for Dubai for the Asia Cup 2025. In his absence, the captaincy was in the hands of Madhav Kaushik. The decision to bat first after winning the toss was made in the final, but the team's performance was not satisfactory.
Meerut could only manage 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Prashant Chaudhary scored the highest 37 runs for the team, but the rest of the batsmen proved to be flops. Swastik Chikara got out without scoring at the very beginning, and captain Madhav Kaushik returned to the pavilion after scoring only 6 runs.
Middle order failed to take responsibility
Meerut Mavericks' middle order completely failed. Divyansh Rajput and Ritik Vats scored 18 runs each. Akshay Dubey contributed 17 runs, but these contributions could not take the team to a big score. On the other hand, the bowlers of Kashi Rudras performed bly. Sunil Kumar, Kartik Yadav, and Shivam Mavi took two wickets each, maintaining balance in the match. Due to their economical and pressure bowling, Meerut batsmen could not control the game.
Explosive batting by Karan Sharma and Abhishek Goswami
Captain Karan Sharma and Abhishek Goswami made the biggest contribution to Kashi Rudras' victory. Together, they formed a partnership of 108 runs for the first wicket. Karan scored 65 runs off 31 balls, with the help of 10 fours and 2 sixes. Abhishek Goswami remained unbeaten till the end and scored 61 runs off 45 balls.
Karan Sharma's explosive innings and the team's excellent coordination led Kashi Rudras to a comfortable 8-wicket victory. With this win, the team made history by clinching the UP T20 League 2025 title.
