Kurebhar: Station House Officer (SHO) Ravindra Singh, posted at Kurebhar police station, has been suspended with immediate effect after photographs from one of his parties went viral on social media. The picture shows a history-sheeter, Suresh Kasaudhan, cutting and eating cake from the SHO's hand and also presenting a gift.
Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh, taking serious note of the matter, has issued orders for an impartial departmental inquiry. He clearly stated that no such negligence will be tolerated within the department.
The SHO, in his defense, stated that the picture is old, from April, and at that time, no case was registered against the history-sheeter. However, the viral photograph has cast a shadow of doubt over the department's image.

An officer-in-charge appearing in a friendly atmosphere at a public event with an individual having a criminal record or a suspect is a serious concern for the credibility of the police system and law and order.
