Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 Premiere Delayed: Ekta Kapoor Prioritizes Perfection

Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of Ekta Kapoor's cult show, 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2'. It was initially reported that the show would air in the first week of July and would consist of 150 episodes.

Entertainment: Fans have been eagerly anticipating the second season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, one of the most discussed and memorable shows on television. This reboot version by Ekta Kapoor was scheduled to air from July 3, 2025, but viewers will now have to wait longer. Actor Amar Upadhyay, who played Mihir Virani in the show, has confirmed that the premiere is delayed, and the reason is producer Ekta Kapoor herself.

In fact, Ekta Kapoor wants to make this season absolutely perfect and is paying close attention to every detail, from the set design to the color combinations on screen. Amar Upadhyay revealed that some changes were needed on the set, which is why the shooting is being redone.

Amar said, "Ekta Ji is a perfectionist. She wants everything on screen exactly as it is in her mind. When the set was ready, she immediately asked for changes. The color scheme on the screen wasn't what it should have been. That's why work had to be restarted. This is the reason the show won't premiere on July 3."

Planned Launch on 25th Anniversary

Notably, July 3, 2025, marks the 25th anniversary of the first season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. In light of this, the makers had planned to launch the reboot season on the same day. Since this news came out, viewers were quite excited about the comeback of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay. However, Ekta Kapoor has postponed the date due to new changes on the set. For now, the makers haven't announced a new launch date, but it is hoped that it will be revealed soon.

Smriti Irani's Comeback

A special aspect of this show is that Smriti Irani is also returning in the role of Tulsi Virani after 17 years. When the reboot was discussed in 2014, Smriti had turned it down because she had become active in politics and was about to take the oath as a minister. But this time, she agreed to be a part of the show.

According to a report, Smriti Irani will now shoot with Z+ security while being a central minister. This is a unique case in the television industry.

150-Episode Season

Ekta Kapoor wants to keep this season a limited one of 150 episodes, so that the story can be given a b and engaging form instead of being drawn out. Many old actors are expected to return to the show, and new generation faces are also being included. Amar Upadhyay said, "This is not just a serial; it is our legacy. And Ekta Kapoor does not want to portray this legacy in a weak way under any circumstances. Therefore, no matter how long it takes, only a perfect show will be presented to the audience."
