Light Fog in Lucknow Clears as Western Disturbance Brings Rain Chances Till February 4

Lucknow witnessed light fog on Wednesday morning followed by sunshine, while the impact of a western disturbance is expected to bring intermittent rain, cloud cover, and colder night conditions in the city and nearby districts until February 4, according to weather officials.

Wednesday morning in Lucknow began with light fog, leading to temporarily reduced visibility in several parts of the city. As the morning progressed, the fog gradually cleared and sunshine emerged, resulting in a slight increase in daytime temperatures. The weather department stated that this improvement is temporary and that conditions may change again in the coming days.

Meteorologists said the impact of an active western disturbance over north India has now extended to eastern Uttar Pradesh. As a result, cloud movement is expected to continue over Lucknow and surrounding districts. A mix of sunshine and clouds is likely during the day, while light drizzle or showers may occur at night. Intermittent rainfall is expected to continue until February 4.

Due to rainfall and increased moisture, a drop in minimum temperatures may be recorded. This could intensify cold conditions during night and early morning hours. The weather department also indicated that higher humidity levels may lead to the formation of fog or mist in the morning in the coming days, particularly in peripheral areas of the city and near open fields.

Winds are expected to remain light at present. Wind speed may increase briefly during rainfall, but no b storms are anticipated. Rising humidity levels may cause people to experience mild dampness along with cold conditions.

The changing weather conditions may affect daily life. People travelling early in the morning or late at night have been advised to remain cautious due to fog and slippery roads. Elderly people and children have been advised to wear warm clothing and take necessary precautions against the cold.

According to agricultural experts, the rainfall is considered beneficial for rabi crops. Crops such as wheat, mustard, and gram are expected to receive adequate moisture, which may have a positive impact on production. Farmers have been advised to ensure proper drainage in fields to prevent excess moisture.

Overall, weather conditions in Lucknow are expected to remain unstable over the next few days, with mild daytime relief due to sunshine and the likelihood of cold conditions and drizzle at night. The weather department is monitoring the situation and will issue further advisories if required.
