The tradition of storytelling in our country has deep roots. From childhood, we've grown up listening to stories from grandparents, aunts, and uncles. However, in today's digital world, this tradition is fading. Stories are a powerful medium for learning and understanding, for both children and adults. Our aim is to entertain you with fresh stories, each carrying a meaningful message. We hope you enjoy them. Here's an interesting story:
"The Maya of Lord Krishna: Supernatural Tales"
Once, Sudama asked Lord Krishna, "My friend, I want to see your magic... what is it like?" Initially hesitant, Lord Krishna eventually agreed and said, "Alright, someday I will show you." One day he suggested, "Sudama, let's go bathe in the Gomati River." Both went to the riverbank, undressed, and took a dip. After bathing, Lord Krishna returned to the shore.
As Sudama saw Krishna leave, he thought, "Krishna has gone to the shore, I will take another dip." As Sudama dived in, Lord Krishna showed him his magic.
Sudama was astonished. People gathered and exclaimed, "Our king has died. According to our tradition, whoever wears the garland placed by the elephant becomes our king. The elephant has adorned you with a garland, so now you are our king." Sudama was amazed. He became king, married a princess, and had two sons.
One day, Sudama's wife fell ill and eventually died. Sudama wept in sorrow. The people told him, "You shouldn't cry; you are our king. But just as the queen is gone, so too must you go. This is the rule of this magical land."
They said, "You must perform your wife's funeral rites and then enter the pyre with her." Sudama thought incredulously, "Why should I die? This is not the law of my kingdom." He forgot about his wife's death, and his grief subsided.
Now, lost in his own thoughts, Sudama said, "Brothers, I am not a resident of this magical land. Your laws do not apply to me. Why should I burn myself?" The people insisted, "You must enter the pyre with your wife; it's the custom here."
Finally, Sudama said, "Alright, let me bathe before entering the pyre." The people initially disagreed, but Sudama appointed armed guards and insisted on bathing. He was scared and trembling. He entered the river, took a dip, and when he came out, he realized there was no magical land. Krishna was still there, wearing his yellow robe, and Sudama realized he had experienced a different world.
Escaping death, Sudama emerged from the river. He wept. Lord Krishna, feigning ignorance, asked, "Sudama, why are you crying?" Sudama replied, "Krishna, was what I saw real, or is what I see now the reality?" Krishna smiled and said, "What you saw was not real; it was an illusion... a dream... my magic. What you see now is real. I am the truth... everything else is my illusion."
And he further said, "He who is connected to Lord Krishna does not dance before Maya... is not misled by it. He remains untouched by Maya, just like Sudama. Having known this once, how could Sudama remain separate from Lord Krishna?"
