Father and uncle, angered by a love marriage, conspired with the Mahadev gang to murder their daughter and her husband. Both bodies were dumped on the railway tracks. Police have arrested three individuals, while the main accused are still at large.
Patna: A love story from the Dhanrua police station area of Patna, Bihar, has taken a heart-wrenching turn. The mangled bodies of a young man and woman found on the railway tracks initially led to suspicions of an accident or suicide, but police investigation has revealed a shocking truth. The case turned out to be a planned "honor killing," where the daughter's love was so unacceptable to her family that her father and uncle, along with a gang, murdered her and her husband.
Dispute Began with a Temple Marriage
According to information, Lovely from the Dhanrua area and Subodh Kumar alias Loha Yadav were in love. Both had eloped on December 6, married in a temple, and began living in a rented room in Ramkrishnanagar. This relationship was not acceptable to Lovely's family under any circumstances.
The family's displeasure gradually turned into anger. When the father Arun Yadav and uncle Sunil Kumar learned of their whereabouts, they arrived at the rented room with accomplices. There, the couple was brutally beaten and then forcibly taken away in vehicles.
Bodies Dumped on Railway Tracks
Police investigation revealed that the notorious "Mahadev Gang" was also involved in the entire murder conspiracy. Both were taken near the Chandan Nagar railway track in the Kewra police station area and strangled to death. Afterward, the bodies were thrown onto the railway line to make it appear as an accident or suicide at first glance.
However, scientific examination and the condition of the bodies made it clear that this was a premeditated murder. The post-mortem report and evidence collected from the scene provided the police with a new direction, and suspicion on the family deepened.
Landlady Arrested for Attempting to Conceal Evidence
Superintendent of Police (East) Parichay Kumar stated in a press conference that bloodstains were found during the search of the rented room in Ramkrishnanagar. The landlady, Rakhi Devi, not only showed negligence in informing the police but also attempted to destroy evidence. Consequently, she has been arrested.
So far, the police have arrested three accused: Rahul Kumar, Deenbandhu Kumar, and the landlady Rakhi Devi. Interrogation of these individuals has revealed significant information, helping to connect the dots of the case.
Main Conspirators at Large
SP Parichay Kumar stated that the main conspirators behind this murder are the girl's father, Arun Yadav, and her uncle, Sunil Kumar. Both are absconding, and the police are conducting raids to apprehend them.
The police said that the girl and the boy belonged to different castes, which led the family to plot their murder. This act, committed in the name of caste and social prestige, is extremely shameful and horrific for society.
