The Irrigation Department in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has removed a Junior Engineer (JE) and a Ziledar from their positions following a controversy involving a flat under the Sardar Patel Residential Scheme.
According to available information, departmental proceedings were underway concerning a flat in the residential scheme. During the process, officials pasted a notice on the flat and a team arrived at the site with a bulldozer. The matter subsequently drew attention, prompting a departmental review.
During the administrative inquiry, several questions were raised regarding the procedure followed in the action. Following the review, the Irrigation Department removed the concerned JE and Ziledar from their current posts with immediate effect. Departmental officials said a detailed investigation is being conducted and further action will be taken based on the findings of the report.
The incident has also become a subject of discussion among residents of the housing scheme. Local residents said that all legal procedures should be followed before any action is taken to avoid unnecessary disputes.
According to departmental sources, the inquiry will examine whether the process of issuing the notice and arriving at the site with a bulldozer was in accordance with established rules. If negligence or violation of regulations is established at any level, further disciplinary action may be taken against the officials concerned.
For now, the Irrigation Department has removed both officials and initiated an investigation into the matter. The inquiry report is expected to determine responsibility for the sequence of events and guide any subsequent action.
