Madhya Pradesh Courts Spanish Investors with Promises of Support and Growth

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during his Spain visit, addressed the 'Invest in Madhya Pradesh Business Forum' in Madrid, assuring investors of all possible support while highlighting the state as India's most investment-friendly. He stated that Madhya Pradesh is not only geographically at the center of India, but also, through the convergence of trade, culture, and technology, it can become a central hub for investors.

The CM mentioned that the state offers immense potential in sectors like food processing, textiles, agro-based industries, solar and wind energy. Along with superior road, rail, and air connectivity, the state boasts world-class industrial infrastructure. He added, "Even if you establish an industry in any other state in India, you will still feel the need for Madhya Pradesh."

Short Film Presented to Attract Investors

A short film was screened at the event, providing investors with information on the state's industrial capabilities and incentive schemes. The Chief Minister also stated that the synergy between Spain's technological prowess and India's rich culture could forge new business relationships. He highlighted that, being a focus state for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state receives several important concessions from the central government.

Focus on Logistics and Medical Sector

The Chief Minister said that the state is rapidly developing as a logistics hub and that the establishment of medical device companies is boosting medical tourism. He discussed the $9.32 billion trade relationship between India and Spain, stating that Spain is India's sixth-largest trading partner. He urged investors to come to Madhya Pradesh to see and understand the opportunities here firsthand.

A New Direction for Investment and Prosperity

During the program, Public Relations Secretary Dr. Sudam Khade said that this visit is very important from a cultural and economic point of view. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state has become one of the fastest growing economies in the country.

Meanwhile, Principal Secretary Raghavendra Singh stated that the current bilateral trade between India and Spain is $5.93 billion, with 2 Spanish and 20 Indian companies actively involved. He described the state as a rich producer of diamonds, limestone, and other mineral ores and added that Indore's world-class recognition for cleanliness is also a b identity of the state.

Strength in Workforce and Infrastructure

Raghavendra Singh said that 47% of Madhya Pradesh's population is working, ensuring that there is no shortage of trained human resources for industries. There is also sufficient availability of electricity and water in the state. He mentioned that the state is aiming for 550 gigawatts of renewable energy production.

The industrial base is being strengthened in the state with a 500,000-kilometer road network, 55 private universities, and employment-oriented courses. He said that there are many investment opportunities in the automobile, IT, and pharma sectors, and under Ease of Doing Business, investors can start an industry in just 30 days.

Statement of Shiv Shekhar Shukla

Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Shiv Shekhar Shukla, stated at the forum that Madhya Pradesh is a state full of heritage, culture, and natural beauty. Historical sites like Khajuraho, Mandu, and Orchha, along with 12 National Parks and the status of Tiger-Cheetah State, make the state special.

He said that religious tourism in the state has also gained a new identity due to the Mahakal Lok built in Ujjain. Tribal culture and new tourism policies with schemes like homestays, yoga centers are attracting foreign tourists. Around 1000 homestays have been established so far and preparations have started for the proposed Simhastha Kumbh in Ujjain in 2028.


Sanjay Dubey Presented Data

Additional Chief Secretary of Science and Technology, Sanjay Dubey, said that Madhya Pradesh is at the forefront of Digital India. 700 million UPI transactions are happening in the state every day, which is the highest in the country. 5.5 million IT professionals from the state are working in the country and abroad.

Bhopal and Indore are becoming hubs for IT investment. Investors are being offered opportunities here with plug and play facilities, green energy, low pollution, and welfare policies. There are 15 IT parks, more than 50 IT companies, IIT, Triple IT, and AIIMS-like institutions in the state.

Subsidy and Investment Promotion Schemes

Dubey said that the state government is giving subsidies of up to $4.5 million on an investment of $10 million in the IT sector. The cost of investment in smaller cities is lower compared to Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Under drone technology and anti-drone policy, the state is rapidly working towards becoming a leader.

Diplomats also have Faith in Madhya Pradesh

India's Ambassador to Spain, Dinesh Patnaik, said that under India's federal system, the center and the state work together for the development of the country and Madhya Pradesh is one of the best examples of this. He urged Spanish investors to come to Madhya Pradesh and explore investment opportunities, especially in safe and emerging sectors like renewable energy.

Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, President of the India Council Foundation, also reiterated his commitment to increasing business cooperation between India and Spain and said that they want to bly promote potential opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
