Manushi Chhillar's recently released film 'Malik' has had a good start at the box office. In just 6 days, the film has collected over ₹19 crore.
Entertainment: Manushi Chhillar, who was Miss World 2017 and is now establishing herself as an actress, is currently in the news for her recent release, 'Malik'. Manushi is extremely excited about the film's performance so far and the audience's response. With 'Malik', Manushi has proved that she will be recognized not only for her beauty but also for her acting skills.
The film has collected over ₹19 crore at the box office in 6 days. In a special conversation, Manushi Chhillar spoke openly about her career, the success of 'Malik', and the changing perspective of the industry.
The praise received from 'Malik' is very special to me
Manushi says, "When 'Malik' was released and I saw people clapping for my performance in the theater, that moment was unforgettable for me. This was the first time in my career that my acting received so much public appreciation. After the screening, many people from the industry called me and said that they enjoyed my work. This was very special to me. I felt that my hard work is now being recognized."
On the mixed reactions to the film, Manushi says, "Everyone has a different perspective. I am happy that the public's response in the theater has been positive. As far as critics are concerned, their opinion is also important, but for me, the biggest win is when the general audience can feel my character."
From 'Prithviraj' to 'Malik', the industry's changed perspective
Manushi believes that the industry's perspective towards her has now changed. "When I did 'Prithviraj', people said that it didn't look like my first film. Screen presence and confidence were definitely praised, but after 'Malik', I felt for the first time that people have not only seen me, but also felt my work. This is a big change for me."
Manushi says, "I am an outsider in the industry, so I never expected to get a dream role in my first film itself. For me, 'Malik' was that opportunity, in which I got a chance to prove myself at the performance level. The character of 'Shalini' was not just a role, but an opportunity where I could showcase my skills."
Desire to play iconic characters
Manushi says that if she gets a chance, she would like to play a character like 'Paro' from 'Devdas'. According to her, "That character has emotion, grace, and tragic beauty. As an actor, that role excites me a lot." On the question of personal changes after becoming famous, Manushi says, "I am still the same person, the only difference is that now I have become more comfortable with the camera and people's attention. In the beginning, even small things seemed big, but now everything has become normal."
Manushi believes that it is most important to keep your goals clear to stay in the industry. "People will give advice, but you have to make the decision yourself. My focus has always been on improving myself and will continue to be so."
How do you balance film, business, and social work?
Manushi says, "I have always been a multitasker. I studied even during the preparation for Miss India, so I have learned to strike a balance. During shooting, the full focus is on the film, but as soon as I get time, I also give time to my wellness projects and brands." Manushi says that very few people know that she is also proficient in painting. "My paintings express human feelings and emotions. I try to say with colors and shapes what is not possible in words."
Manushi said, "There are moments in everyone's life when it feels like everything is tiring. But I am just starting my career, it is wrong to give up at this age. To pick yourself up and move forward again is the real strength." On Rashel Gupta's allegations, Manushi says, "My experience in Miss World has always been respectful. In today's era, all organizations should be aware of the mental health and respect of the contestants."
Manushi says that this field should be seen not only for glamour, but also from the perspective of hard work. "Everyone sees the night of Miss World, but no one knows the hard work behind it. Even in acting, you have to prove yourself every day. If your focus is not on fame, but on better work, then this journey can be beautiful for you."
