Mary Millben Alleges US Funding for CJP and Urges Indian Youth to Protest Peacefully

American singer Mary Millben has alleged that CJP receives financial support from US-based donors and urged Indian youth to protest peacefully. The funding claims remain independently unverified.

American singer and actress Mary Millben is once again drawing attention for her statements on Indian politics. She has reportedly accused the leadership of the alleged “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) of receiving financial support from US-based donors and called on Indian youth to protest against the organisation peacefully.

Millben also expressed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying young people should play an active role in issues concerning the country’s democratic values and future.

However, the claims regarding US funding for CJP and alleged links between the funding and opponents of Prime Minister Modi have not been independently verified. The allegations should therefore be treated as claims made by Millben.

Millben shared her views on social media on Wednesday. Her statement came amid political protests in Delhi over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Protesters had demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging irregularities in the process of revising voter lists.

Against this backdrop, Millben levelled allegations against CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke and the organisation. She claimed that CJP was receiving financial support from individuals based in the United States who oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideology and leadership.

Millben expressed concern over these alleged financial links. However, the available details do not include any comprehensive public documentation or independently verified evidence supporting her allegations.

In her statement, Millben referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political experience and leadership. She said Modi had been active in public life for a long time and that India had repeatedly delivered electoral mandates under his leadership. Millben also said she did not believe the Prime Minister would yield to external pressure.

She urged Indian youth not to remain silent on political and social issues concerning the country. According to Millben, young people have the right to express their views and peacefully oppose activities they consider contrary to the country’s interests.

She called on young people to unite and voice their views through democratic means. Her remarks came amid differences among political parties over the SIR process and the role of the Election Commission.

Millben also claimed that some US donors attempt to promote their preferred political ideologies in different countries. According to her allegations, such individuals may identify influential people in other countries and support them in political activities.

She expressed apprehension that these alleged activities could affect a country’s politics, governance and development trajectory.

However, Millben’s statement does not establish that CJP or its leadership has any actual links to such a network. Independent investigation and credible evidence would be required to verify these claims.

Mary Millben is an American singer and actress known in India particularly for her performances of the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana”, and the devotional song “Om Jai Jagdish Hare”.

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States in June 2023, she performed India’s national anthem at an event.

Millben has remained in the public spotlight among Indian audiences through cultural engagements related to India and her public statements. She has periodically shared her views on Prime Minister Modi and political developments in India.
