Mastermind of Rs 60 Lakh Delhi Cash Robbery Arrested After 700km Chase

The mastermind behind the Rs 60 lakh cash robbery in Prasad Nagar, Delhi, Gagan, was arrested by the police after a 700-kilometer chase. Four assailants had attacked with knives; accomplices are still at large in the case.

Prasad Nagar: The mastermind behind a Rs 60 lakh cash heist in Delhi's Prasad Nagar area has been apprehended by the police after a lengthy and arduous pursuit. The accused has been identified as Gagan, a resident of Transit Camp, Anand Parbat. Police stated that over 30 police personnel were involved in a 700-kilometer chase to apprehend the accused. The search for Gagan's accomplices is ongoing.

Cash Robbery and Injury Incident in Prasad Nagar

According to the police, the robbery incident occurred in Prasad Nagar on September 8th. The complainant, along with his associate, was transporting Rs 60 lakh in cash belonging to their employer on a scooty from Karol Bagh towards West Punjabi Bagh. Four assailants intercepted them near Dhobi Ghat and Alpha Garden Road. They attacked and seriously injured the associate with a knife.

The police reported that after the robbery, the accused and his associates fled the scene of the crime. Following this, a long and challenging operation to track them down commenced.

Gagan, the Accused in Prasad Nagar Robbery, Arrested

The arrested accused, Gagan, is 25 years old and a resident of Transit Camp, Anand Parbat. Police have revealed that Gagan had previously worked with the Delhi Crime Department and was later deployed as a Police Mitra (Friend of Police). According to the police, Gagan's professional background and local knowledge made his apprehension challenging.

DCP Nidhins Walson stated that the identities of Gagan's accomplices are being established, and legal action will be taken against them as well. The police are confirming that the robbery plan was meticulously orchestrated by Gagan.

Jewelry Theft in Laxmi Nagar

Following this robbery, a series of theft incidents continues in the capital. Recently, a theft occurred at the residence of a family living in Laxmi Nagar. The family had been out of their home for approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. Upon their return, they discovered the main door ajar and the house in disarray.

The thieves broke open an almirah and stole lakhs of rupees and valuable jewelry. Police inspected the scene and initiated a preliminary investigation into the matter. This incident has raised questions about security vulnerabilities in the city.
