UP News: On Thursday, BSP supremo Mayawati addressed a large rally at the Kanshiram Smarak Sthal (memorial site) in Lucknow. During her address, she accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of being anti-Dalit and appealed to the Dalit community to remain united and aware. Mayawati also alleged that after coming to power, the SP changed the name of Kasganj district. Alongside this, she praised the BJP government's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
SP Accused of Insulting Kanshiram
Mayawati stated at the rally that Kasganj district in UP had been named Manyavar Kanshiram Nagar. However, as soon as the SP came to power, they changed the name of this district. She said that the SP had always disrespected Kanshiram and ignored the achievements of Dalit community leaders.
Mayawati also mentioned that during the Emergency, the Constitution was suppressed, and Baba Saheb Ambedkar was not allowed to reach Parliament. She highlighted that Baba Saheb was not awarded the Bharat Ratna. Labeling these policies of the SP as anti-Dalit, Mayawati appealed to all sections of society to remain vigilant.
Praise for the BJP Government
The BSP chief stated that the current government's policies are providing respect and opportunities to the Dalit community. She said, "We are grateful to the current government because, unlike the Samajwadi Party government, the funds collected from visitors to this memorial site have been safely guarded by the BJP government."
Mayawati informed that the Kanshiram Memorial Site was constructed when the BSP was in power. She stated that the revenue generated from visitors to the memorial site was used for the maintenance of parks and other memorial sites built in Lucknow. Comparing this step with the policies of the SP government, she said that such an arrangement was not made during the SP's tenure.
Massive Turnout at the Rally
Mayawati stated that millions of party workers and supporters arrived at the memorial site to pay tribute to Kanshiram. She mentioned that there were earlier obstructions to paying tribute due to repairs of some sections, but now most of the memorial is ready.
Mayawati said, "Breaking all your previous records, millions of you have paid tribute to Kanshiram here. This symbolizes the strength of the BSP and the unity of the Dalit community."
In the rally, Mayawati delivered a message to the Dalit community to remain united and aware. She said that people of the community should be conscious of their achievements and rights. Mayawati appealed to the Dalit community to remain politically active and to be wary of the Samajwadi Party's policies.

In her address, Mayawati also mentioned the achievements of the BSP's tenure. She stated that during the BSP's time, several schemes and initiatives were formulated for the welfare of the Dalit community. She explained that the Kanshiram Memorial and other projects aimed to provide respect and service to all sections of society.
