A fire broke out in a scrap warehouse shortly after midnight, triggering a large-scale firefighting operation after flames spread rapidly through combustible materials stored at the site.

According to preliminary information, the fire started late at night in the warehouse, which contained large quantities of plastic, old vehicle parts, tyres, scrap metal and other flammable materials. The stored materials caused the fire to intensify within a short period.

Local residents initially attempted to extinguish the blaze, but were unable to control it because of its intensity. Fire department personnel were subsequently deployed and began firefighting operations.

As the scale of the fire exceeded local firefighting capacity, additional fire brigade teams were called from Hajipur and Samastipur. A total of 12 fire engines were deployed in a coordinated effort to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Firefighters faced difficulties as the combustible materials repeatedly reignited the flames. They continued spraying water for several hours despite intense heat and dense smoke before bringing the fire under control.

The flames rose high above the warehouse and were visible from a considerable distance. As a precaution, several nearby families moved out of their homes while the administration appealed to residents to maintain a safe distance to facilitate relief operations.

No casualties have been reported. However, goods worth several lakh rupees stored in the warehouse are feared to have been destroyed. The actual extent of the damage will be assessed after the fire is completely extinguished and the investigation is completed.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire has not yet been established. Authorities are investigating the possibility of a short circuit, spontaneous ignition of combustible materials or other technical reasons. Teams from the fire department and the local administration are inspecting the site.

Local residents said the fire could have spread to nearby commercial establishments and residential areas if additional firefighting teams had not arrived in time. The coordinated efforts of the fire department prevented the blaze from spreading further.

Although the fire has been brought completely under control, firefighters remain at the site as a precaution. The administration has ordered an investigation into the incident, and the process of determining the exact cause of the fire is underway. The incident has also raised questions regarding safety standards and firefighting arrangements at warehouses in the area.
