Gurugram: Young professionals working at MNCs and foreign nationals near Guru Dronacharya Metro Station have taken responsibility for cleaning the roads and drains. This group, formed 15 days ago, took to the streets to clean up the dirt and waterlogging after observing the lack of local sanitation. Members from France and Europe also joined the campaign and appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness. This initiative highlights the negligence of the municipal corporation and contributes to making the city clean.
Foreigners and Locals Launch Cleanliness Drive in Gurugram
Aman Gupta, who works at an MNC, said that he created this group through X (formerly Twitter) and everyone together took the responsibility of cleaning Gurugram. He said, "It is our responsibility to keep our city clean. Everyone should come forward and clean their city, only then Gurugram can be recognized as a clean city."
In this campaign, along with the garbage spread on the road, the dirt accumulated in the drain's manholes was also cleaned by opening them. Local people also appreciated this initiative and said that it shows that citizens can actively contribute to the cleanliness of the city.
Matilda from France Also Joins the Campaign
Matilda from France was also a part of this campaign. She said, "Gurugram has been given the status of Millennium City, but the sanitation system is still unsatisfactory. Today we have taken to the streets with our colleagues to clean the city. This is our city and we should keep it clean."
Matilda also mentioned that garbage is not only the responsibility of the municipal corporation but also the responsibility of every citizen. She believes that if everyone keeps their surroundings clean, the city can become completely clean and tidy.
Appeal to Administration and Citizens to Keep Gurugram Clean
Lajzar from Europe said, "Gurugram is a wonderful city. If everyone keeps their house and shop surroundings clean, the city can become clean. We appeal to the administration and citizens to also fulfill their responsibility and make Gurugram clean."
This initiative of foreigners and MNC employees gave a clear message that cleanliness does not only depend on government efforts, but every citizen has to play an active role in it.
Citizens and Government Together Make the City Clean
This campaign has proved that there is a big difference between the sanitation programs being run on the papers of the municipal corporation and the actual situation. MNC employees and foreign nationals are cleaning the streets themselves. This sent a message that cleanliness is not just a government responsibility, but also the responsibility of every citizen.
Local people believe that if the municipal corporation and administration are also active and pay attention to the cleaning of breakers, drains and roads regularly, the city can become completely clean and safe.
