RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that 'Bharat' is not just a name but the identity of the country. He objected to the translation of the word 'India' and emphasized Sanatan Dharma, education, and Indian values.
Bharat Identity RSS: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday that 'Bharat' is not just a name, but our cultural and national identity. He said this at a national education conference 'Gyan Sabha' organized by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas. He emphasized that 'Bharat' is a Proper Noun and should not be translated.
Bhagwat said that writing 'India that is Bharat' is correct according to the Constitution, but when we speak or write, we should give priority to 'Bharat'. He said that the unique identity of India is associated with the name 'Bharat' and it is necessary to maintain it as it is.
'India's Identity is its Respect'
Mohan Bhagwat said that the global recognition and respect that India has received is due to its original identity and Indianness. If we lose our identity, then no matter how many qualifications we have, we will not get respect or security. He also said that this rule applies not only to India but to every individual and society in the world.
Bharat has never been expansionist
In his speech, he also shed light on India's historical perspective. He said that India has never been an expansionist or aggressive nation. Bhagwat said, "We traveled from Mexico to Siberia, but never occupied anyone's land, nor did we snatch anyone's kingdom. We only spread peace, non-violence and knowledge."
The purpose of education should not only be a job, but also responsibility
Speaking on the importance of education, Bhagwat said that the purpose of education should not only be to acquire skills or employment. He emphasized that the purpose of education should be self-reliance and social responsibility. He also said that students should get such education that they can fulfill the responsibilities of themselves as well as their family and society.
Reawakening of Sanatan Dharma is necessary
In his speech, Mohan Bhagwat, citing the example of Yogi Arvind, said that the reawakening of Sanatan Dharma is necessary and it is related to the concept of Hindu Rashtra. He said that Yogi Arvind had said that it is the will of God that Sanatan Dharma be awakened again and the rise of Hindu Rashtra is necessary for this.
