Nalanda district police have transferred seven police officers and issued fresh postings across various police stations and units as part of an administrative reshuffle aimed at making the police administration more effective and accountable. Under the new postings, Hilsa Station House Officer Abhijeet has been transferred to Rajgir, while Chandrabhanu has been appointed as the new officer in charge of Hilsa Police Station.
The district police administration said the transfers are part of a routine administrative process intended to improve operational efficiency, ensure better utilisation of resources and strengthen law and order across police stations. The transferred officers have been directed to assume charge at their new postings at the earliest.
Hilsa and Rajgir are considered important police station jurisdictions in the district. With increasing activities and law and order-related matters in the Hilsa area, expectations have been placed on the newly appointed Station House Officer to improve policing. In Rajgir, which is an important religious and tourism centre, the newly posted officer will be responsible for maintaining security arrangements.
Police officials said transfers are not merely changes in designation but also provide an opportunity to utilise officers' experience across different regions. Officers receiving new postings have been instructed to study local conditions and strengthen crime control, public grievance hearings and police-public coordination.
According to sources, other officers included in the transfer list have also been assigned new responsibilities in different police stations and branches of the district. All officers have been directed to take charge within the stipulated timeframe to ensure that policing and administrative work continue without disruption.
The district police administration said priority will be given to crime control, speedy disposal of pending cases, continuous monitoring of sensitive areas and timely resolution of public complaints. Newly posted officers have also been instructed to increase regular patrolling, keep the intelligence network active and establish better coordination with local residents.
The police department said periodic administrative reshuffles bring renewed efficiency to its functioning and provide officers with experience in different areas, helping improve departmental performance and maintain law and order.
Local residents have expressed expectations that the new postings will improve policing and enable quicker resolution of public issues, particularly those related to crime control, traffic management and public grievance hearings.
According to the district police order, the transfer of seven officers has taken effect. The concerned officers will assume charge of their new assignments shortly. The police administration said similar administrative reshuffles will continue to be undertaken as required to maintain law and order and provide better policing services in the district.
