A significant discrepancy has been found between the CCTV footage and the statement of sister Kanchan in the Nikki murder case in Greater Noida. The cameras on the second floor of the house were reportedly switched off at the time of the incident, prompting the police to re-examine the entire case.
Nikki Murder Case: The tragic death of Nikki Palya, also known as Nikki Bhati, in Sirsa village, Greater Noida, has sent shockwaves through the entire region. This case, linked to dowry harassment, is now taking several new turns. A major difference has emerged between the statement of Nikki's sister, Kanchan, and the CCTV footage, leading the police investigation in a completely new direction.
According to police sources, the cameras on the second floor of the house were off at the time of Nikki's death. However, the cameras at the gate and outside the shop were operational. The footage shows Nikki's husband, Vipin, standing outside. This has led the police to re-examine the entire case from scratch.
Major Discrepancy Between Kanchan's Statement and CCTV Footage
Kanchan's role in the Nikki murder case is crucial. She is Nikki's sister and resided in the same house. She had stated to the police that Nikki's husband, Vipin, had set her on fire. Kanchan also claimed that she had tried to save her sister and later filed an FIR.
However, the CCTV footage has raised several questions. The police suspect why the cameras on the second floor were switched off at the time of the incident. While Vipin is visible near the shop in the external cameras, there is no evidence of what transpired inside. The police will now re-investigate Kanchan's statement to uncover the truth.
What Happened on the Night of Nikki's Death
The entire incident occurred on the night of August 21. Nikki caught fire, and the video was shot by Kanchan herself. In the video, Nikki is seen descending the stairs with her body engulfed in flames. She died shortly thereafter.
Kanchan alleged that Vipin poured inflammable material on Nikki and set her ablaze. Nikki's younger son also corroborated this account. However, the police did not find any evidence at the scene to confirm that the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion. While the hospital report mentions a cylinder blast, no signs of a cylinder explosion were found at the spot.
Police Recover Evidence of Inflammable Material and Lighter
When the Kasna police arrived at the scene, they found a container of inflammable material and a lighter. This further deepened the suspicion that the fire might have been deliberately set.
Vipin is seen in the footage entering the house from a bakery shop nearby between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. However, at the time Nikki caught fire, he appears to be outside the house. This contradiction has further complicated the case.
New Angle of Extramarital Affair
During the investigation, the police also learned that Vipin was involved in an extramarital affair. This relationship was reportedly violent, as Vipin was accused of assaulting the woman he was involved with. With this angle coming to light, the police suspect whether Nikki's death was a result of domestic conflict.
Women's Commission Also Investigating
The UP Women's Commission has also intervened in this matter. They have spoken with Nikki's father, mother, and sister Kanchan. The commission is keen for the truth to be fully revealed and for the perpetrators to receive strict punishment.
