A car carrying nine people fell into a water-filled well in the Dindori area of Nashik district, Maharashtra, resulting in the deaths of all occupants, including women and children.
According to initial information, the victims were returning home after attending a private class “sneh sammelan” programme when the accident occurred in the Shivaji Nagar area of Dindori. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge directly into a deep, water-filled well, leaving the occupants unable to escape.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred suddenly, giving no time for anyone to react. Local residents rushed to the scene and initiated rescue efforts immediately. However, the depth of the water and low visibility during nighttime made the operation difficult.

The deceased include three young children and two women. All victims are reported to be from the same family and their relatives, residents of Indore village in Dindori. Among the deceased are five members of the Dargude family and four other relatives.
A large number of locals gathered at the site soon after the incident and assisted in the rescue efforts. Authorities and emergency response teams were later called in. A crane was used to retrieve the car from the well. By the time the vehicle was pulled out and the occupants were recovered, all nine had died.
Following the incident, local administration and disaster management teams reached the spot. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with police and other local agencies, participated in the rescue operation.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle, though other possible causes are also being examined.
