New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar responded to the central government's decision to conduct a nationwide caste census (Caste Census). He described it as the fulfillment of a long-standing demand and thanked Prime Minister Modi, stating that this decision will help improve development schemes.

CM Nitish Kumar's Statement

In his statement, Nitish Kumar said that the demand for a caste census has been a long-standing one for his party and the state government. He welcomed the central government's decision. The CM tweeted, "We had been waiting for the decision on the caste census for a long time, and this decision will certainly be helpful in improving development schemes." He added that this census will reveal the population numbers of various castes and classes, enabling the formulation of plans for their upliftment and development.

Nitish Kumar specifically thanked PM Modi, writing that this decision will not only benefit all sections of society but will also accelerate the overall development process of the nation. He stated, "Congratulations to PM Modi for the decision to conduct a caste census."

Manjhi Also Welcomes the Decision

Meanwhile, Union Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi also reacted to the decision on the caste census. He called it a historic and welcome step. Manjhi said, "This decision is a big lesson for those leaders who supported the caste census but never implemented it while in power." He also added that it will be interesting to see what kind of politics those who questioned the intentions of the Modi government will now pursue.
