Noida Golf Course Project Delayed: Construction Agency Blacklisted and FIR Ordered

Major action has been taken regarding the international golf course project under construction in Sector-151A, Noida. The CEO of Noida Authority has expressed b displeasure over the delay and lack of manpower on the project.

New Delhi: The Noida International Golf Course, being built in Sector-151A, Noida, is significantly behind its scheduled deadline. This highly anticipated project, which began in 2021 and had an initial cost of ₹100 crore, has now reached ₹140 crore, but only 68% of the work has been completed.

Taking strict action on this negligence, the CEO of Noida Authority, Dr. Lokesh M, has blacklisted the construction agency, M/s Kashyapi Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., and has also issued instructions to file an FIR against them.

Construction work found stopped at the site, CEO expressed b displeasure

When CEO Lokesh M conducted a surprise inspection of the project on Monday, he found that construction had completely stopped at the site. Dissatisfied with the progress of the work, he not only canceled the agency's contract but also ordered an FIR to be filed against them at the Knowledge Park-2 police station. Furthermore, a new RFP (Request for Proposal) for the project has been issued, and a search for a new construction agency has begun.

Initial deadline was 2022, project still incomplete in 2025

The initial deadline for the golf course project was September 2022. The project was supposed to be fully completed in three years. However, even after reaching July 2025, only 68% of the work has been completed. According to engineers, the construction agency was sent several notices, but no concrete steps were taken to increase the number of laborers and speed up the work.

Engineers from Work Circle-10, working on the project, informed the CEO that despite repeated warnings, the construction company did not increase the manpower on site. As a result, construction continued intermittently and has now come to a complete standstill.

Cost increased from ₹100 crore to ₹140 crore

The project began in 2021 with a cost of ₹100 crore. However, due to additional expenses in civil and electrical works, the cost has reached ₹140.08 crore. Despite this increased cost, the expected progress in construction could not be achieved, leading to the displeasure of the authorities and the disappointment of the public.

There was a lot of enthusiasm among the people regarding this project. By March 2023, 890 people had taken its membership, of which 53 people have withdrawn their membership so far.

  • Fee for general citizens: ₹10 lakh
  • For state government employees: ₹3 lakh
  • For central government employees: ₹6 lakh
  • Corporate membership: ₹15 lakh

Interestingly, some foreign citizens have also taken membership of this golf course, but their confidence is wavering due to the delay in construction. The Noida Authority, considering the delay in work, had also given the option of transferring membership with conditions at the Noida Golf Club located in Sector-38. But this option also did not prove to be sustainable for long, and many members, dissatisfied, started leaving the membership.
