Noida: In a strict move, the Health Department in Noida, UP, has halted the medical practice of over 400 doctors. These doctors are registered in other states of the country, but they have not registered their names with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council. The department stated that practicing medicine without registration from the UP Medical Council is a violation of rules, and action will be taken against such doctors.

Health Department Takes Strict Action

Health officials say that doctors and hospitals had previously been sent notices multiple times, instructing them to register within the stipulated time. However, many doctors did not comply with the order.

Now, the department has clarified that strict action will be taken against doctors who practice medicine without registering with the UP Medical Council. Dr. Chandan Soni, Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar, stated that practicing without registration in the state is a crime. Those who break the rules will not be spared, and the department is keeping a close watch on the situation.

Improvement in District Health Services

The Health Department has appointed 90 new ASHA workers to strengthen health services in rural areas. Now, a total of 680 ASHA workers will be operating in the district.

Out of the new ASHA workers, 50 will be deployed in Dadri, 25 in Dankaur, 9 in Bisrakh, and 6 in Jewar. These ASHA workers will handle important tasks such as vaccination, care for pregnant women, and child nutrition. Officials state that this will increase the accessibility of health services in rural areas and ensure timely treatment for people.

Number and Status of Registered Doctors

In Gautam Buddh Nagar, a total of over 2,000 doctors are registered. Among these, approximately 400 doctors are registered in other states but have not registered in UP.

Now, these doctors have two options: either register with the UP Medical Council or cease their practice. The department has warned that strict legal action will be taken against doctors who fail to register.
