Haider Ali Was Arrested in London
Haider Ali was arrested in England while he was playing for the Pakistan Shaheens team. Manchester Police took him into custody at the Canterbury ground during the match against Melbourne Cricket Club. Since his arrest, he remained involved in legal proceedings, and the court had granted him conditional bail.
The complaint was filed by a British-Pakistani woman. She informed the police that she first met him in a Manchester hotel on July 23, 2025. Subsequently, they met again on August 1st in Ashford. The woman filed a report with the police in mid-August, accusing Haider Ali of rape.
Based on the complaint, the police took immediate action and arrested the player. However, the court has now found that there is insufficient evidence to substantiate the woman's allegations.
Court Acquits Him, Returns Passport
In its verdict, the London court clearly stated that the rape case could not proceed based on the available evidence. The court dismissed the case, granting Haider Ali his freedom. His passport has also been returned, which means he can now return to Pakistan or travel anywhere, including the UK.
Barrister Moin Khan, a criminal law expert representing Haider Ali, argued that the accusations were baseless and no concrete evidence was presented. The court accepted his arguments.
