Film's Story
The film's story revolves around Param (Sidharth Malhotra) and Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor). Param, a stylish and ambitious businessman, invests in an AI dating app and is challenged by his father to find his soulmate in 10 days. The story becomes more interesting when Param reaches Kerala and meets Sundari there.
Sundari, a b girl rooted in her values, does not believe in love solely through profiles or technology. As they get to know each other, romance, laughter, and many fun moments blossom between them. Additionally, the annoyance and exasperation of Sundari's younger sister Ammu (Inayat Verma) add a bit of light drama to the story.
Direction and Technical Aspects
Director Tushar Jalota has kept the film paced by focusing on emotions and natural dialogues rather than a fast pace. The film never feels artificial. The balance between the bustle of Delhi and the serene beauty of Kerala makes the film captivating. The camera work and cinematography also fully support the film's story and mood. Some scenes, like the shots of Kalaripayattu and Vallam Kali, excite and thrill the audience.
Sidharth Malhotra appears natural in his romantic avatar in this film. Although his old 'chocolate boy' innocence might have slightly diminished, his charm remains intact. Janhvi Kapoor has performed well in both comedy timing and emotional scenes. Her looks in traditional sarees are extremely appealing in the film. However, the on-screen chemistry and depth between the two could have been developed a bit more.
