New Delhi: Farmers registered under the Government of India's Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) are set to receive a significant relief soon. After a long wait, the official date for the 20th installment has been announced. On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the ₹2000 installment at 11:00 AM from Banauli village in the Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh.
This scheme is one of the most impactful farmer schemes run by the central government, aimed at providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6000 annually in three installments – one installment every four months.
19 Installments Have Been Released So Far
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, 19 installments have been released so far, benefiting over 9.8 crore farmers nationwide. Farmers had been eagerly awaiting the 20th installment, which has now been addressed. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently announced that the next installment will be transferred to the farmers' bank accounts on August 2nd.
Objective and Eligibility of the PM-KISAN Yojana
The main objective of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is to provide assistance to farmers who own 2 hectares of land or less. This amount is sent to the farmers' accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) to ensure transparency in the process.

How to Check Your Name in the Beneficiary List
If you have already registered for the PM Kisan Yojana and want to know if your name is on the beneficiary list, follow the steps below:
- First, visit the website pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on the Farmers Corner section on the homepage
- Select the Beneficiary List option
- Now, fill in your state, district, sub-district (tehsil), block, and village information
- Click on Get Report
- The list of beneficiaries will be displayed on the screen, where you can check your name
e-KYC is Mandatory
To avail the benefits of the PM Kisan Yojana, it is mandatory to complete e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer). Farmers who have not completed their e-KYC will not have the installment amount credited to their accounts. You can complete e-KYC through Aadhaar OTP or biometrics. This facility is available both on the website and at CSCs (Common Service Centers).
Along with the 20th installment, the government is working towards further strengthening the digitization of this scheme. The government's aim is to ensure that every eligible farmer receives direct benefits without any intermediaries.
