PM Modi's 5-Nation Tour: Strengthening Global Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to embark on a 5-nation tour between July 2nd and 9th. He will visit Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. He will also participate in the BRICS summit in Rio.

PM Modi Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a state visit to five countries from July 2nd, 2025, to July 9th, 2025. During this trip, he will visit Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. This will be one of the longest foreign trips of the Prime Minister's tenure, aimed at giving a new direction to India's global relations. Let's take a look at the detailed itinerary of this visit.

Historic Visit to Ghana

Prime Minister Modi will commence his tour with a visit to Ghana, a West African country, on July 2nd and 3rd. This will be the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in three decades. It will also be Narendra Modi's first bilateral visit to Ghana as Prime Minister.

During this visit, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with the President of Ghana. Discussions will focus on expanding cooperation in the economic, energy, and defense sectors between the two countries. Measures to strengthen development partnerships will also be considered. This visit will deepen cooperation between India and Ghana and further strengthen India's strategic partnership with ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) and the African Union.

First Prime Ministerial Visit to Trinidad and Tobago

Prime Minister Modi will undertake a state visit to Trinidad and Tobago from July 3rd to 4th. This will be his first visit to this Caribbean nation and the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 1999.

During his visit, PM Modi will meet with President Christine Carla Kangaloo and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to give a new impetus to bilateral relations. It is likely that he will also address a joint session of the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament. This visit will deepen the historical and cultural relations between the two countries.

New Dimensions to Bilateral Relations in Argentina

In the third leg of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will undertake an official visit to Argentina on July 4th and 5th. This visit is being made at the invitation of Argentine President Javier Milei. Both leaders will discuss enhancing cooperation in various sectors including trade, defense, energy, agriculture, mining, and investment.

Through this bilateral dialogue, the multi-faceted strategic partnership between India and Argentina will receive a new dimension. This visit will further strengthen India's role in the Global South.

Brazil Visit for BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Modi will be on a state visit to Brazil from July 5th to 8th. During this time, he will participate in the 17th BRICS summit held in Rio de Janeiro on July 6th and 7th. This will be Prime Minister Modi's fourth visit to Brazil.

BRICS is considered one of the most influential non-Western blocs globally. During the summit, discussions will be held on important issues such as global governance reforms, peace and security, climate action, artificial intelligence, economic cooperation, and health.

On the sidelines of the BRICS summit, Prime Minister Modi will also meet with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Both leaders will discuss strengthening strategic partnerships on issues of mutual interest such as defense, space, energy, agriculture, and health.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties with Namibia

In the final leg of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will undertake a state visit to Namibia on July 9th. This will be his first visit to Namibia. During this time, he will meet with President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba and discuss bilateral issues.

The Prime Minister will pay tribute to Dr. Sam Nujoma, the first President of Namibia, and may also address the Parliament. This visit will further strengthen the historical relations between India and Namibia.
