New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday to participate in the G20 Summit. The summit will be held from November 21 to 23 and will be attended by several prominent heads of state from around the world. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will address three sessions on important topics such as inclusive development, disaster risk reduction, and an equitable future.
Prime Minister Modi stated that this summit holds special significance as it is the first G20 Summit to be hosted on the African continent. During India's G20 presidency in 2023, the African Union became a member of the G20, which further strengthens the global vision of this summit.
Sessions to be Addressed by PM Modi

According to sources, Prime Minister Modi is expected to address three main sessions at this summit:
- Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth: This session will discuss all aspects of economic development to ensure that no individual or community is left behind in this development process. Prime Minister Modi will share the experiences of developing and least developed countries and emphasize strengthening global economic cooperation.
- G20's Contribution in a Dynamic World: The second session will focus on disaster risk reduction, climate change, and global challenges. During this session, Prime Minister Modi will highlight measures to enhance coordination and cooperation among G20 nations.
- A Fair and Equitable Future for All: The third session will focus on global steps towards a just and inclusive future. In this session, Prime Minister Modi will share his perspective specifically on issues such as education, health, and technological cooperation.
PM Modi to Also Attend IBSA Leaders' Meeting
During this summit, Prime Minister Modi will also participate in the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) leaders' meeting. This meeting will discuss further strengthening economic, political, and social cooperation among the three countries. The IBSA Forum is a crucial platform for strategic partnership among countries of the Global South, and Prime Minister Modi will present India's vision on this platform.
Before his departure, Prime Minister Modi stated that hosting the G20 Summit in Africa is a historic opportunity. This summit provides an opportunity for the developing countries of the African continent to strengthen their role on the global stage. Furthermore, the summit will pay special attention to issues of Africa's economic and social development.
