Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Arvind Limited’s ₹100 crore manufacturing unit in Varanasi, which will produce sportswear and innerwear. The facility is expected to generate more than 1,000 direct jobs, with around 300 women currently undergoing training.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Arvind Limited’s new manufacturing unit in Mirzamurad, Varanasi. The facility, built at an investment of approximately ₹100 crore, will manufacture sportswear and innerwear. More than 1,000 jobs are expected to be created in the Purvanchal region once the unit becomes operational.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inspect the venue and review preparations ahead of the Prime Minister’s proposed visit. The project is expected to expand the company’s manufacturing operations in the region.

Arvind Limited, a textile manufacturer based in Gujarat, has established a new manufacturing unit in the Mirzamurad area of Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the facility, which has been developed at a cost of approximately ₹100 crore.

The project is located near Khochawan village in the Bhedhara area of the Rajatalab tehsil in Varanasi district. The facility has been constructed on approximately seven to eight acres of land along the highway. The foundation stone for the project was laid on April 25, 2024.

The unit will manufacture sportswear and innerwear. The company also plans to expand the project in the future.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Mirzamurad on Wednesday to inspect preparations for the Prime Minister’s programme. A helipad is being prepared at the grounds of Janta Inter College in Khochawan for the visit. Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister and district in-charge Suresh Kumar Khanna will accompany the Chief Minister. Officials will review arrangements at the venue and surrounding areas before finalising preparations.

More than 1,000 direct jobs are expected to be created once the new unit becomes operational. Around 300 women are currently undergoing training at the company.

The project’s second phase is also planned to include expansion, which could create additional employment opportunities. The actual number of jobs will depend on the commencement of production, the company’s staffing requirements and the pace of expansion.

Arvind Limited was established in 1931 and is headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company operates in denim, cotton and linen fabrics, sportswear and other textile products. The Varanasi facility will expand its manufacturing operations.

Administrative and security arrangements are being made in Varanasi in view of the Prime Minister’s proposed visit and the air show. The Public Works Department is constructing a temporary pontoon bridge approximately 200 metres long between Namo Ghat and Adikeshav Ghat.

The bridge may be used for emergency evacuation and movement if required. According to officials, the plan is to complete the structure within the stipulated time and hand it over to the relevant agencies. The area will be covered by security arrangements ahead of the Prime Minister’s programme.

The inauguration of Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya in the Ganjari Stadium area near Ring Road Phase 2 has also been proposed for inclusion in the programme. However, final confirmation will depend on the official schedule.
