PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the country's largest PM MITRA Textile Park in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on his birthday, September 17. This mega project will prove to be a new chapter in employment and industrial development not only for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire country. This park is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to over 3 lakh people.
What is the PM MITRA Textile Park Scheme
The Government of India has launched the PM MITRA Park scheme in seven states to take the textile industry to new heights. Its aim is to provide the entire process, from farming to textile export, at a single location. This model is named the 5F chain, which includes Farm, Fiber, Factory, Fashion, and Foreign. This means the journey from cotton cultivation to accessing foreign markets for clothing will now be completed within a single complex.
Why Dhar was chosen
The Bhaisola area of Dhar district has been selected for this mega park. From here, goods can be easily transported via expressways through Jhabua and Ratlam directly to Mumbai's JNPT and Gujarat's Kandla Port. Additionally, excellent connectivity will be available through the Badnawar-Thandla Highway and the Pithampur-Mhow-Neemuch Highway. This is why this region has been deemed ideal for the country's first and largest PM MITRA Textile Park.
How many will get employment
This park, to be built in Dhar district, will provide employment to over 3 lakh people. Priority will be given to the local tribal community, laborers, and skilled women. People from Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, and Barwani districts will directly benefit from this project. The government's goal is that employment should not be limited to large companies but that opportunities should also be available at the local level.
Features of the Park
This park will be equipped with modern technology and world-class facilities. Ready-to-use "plug and play" units will be available for industries, meaning they will only need to install machinery as electricity and water facilities will already be in place. 81 plots will be offered for micro and small industries on rent, promoting local entrepreneurs. The park will feature a logistics hub, warehousing, and a large parking area for easy accommodation of containers and trucks. This will also make it an attractive center for foreign companies.
Environmentally Friendly Initiatives
This park will be developed in a completely eco-friendly manner. It is planned to be powered by solar energy. A Zero Liquid Discharge system will be installed to prevent any kind of wastewater discharge. 20 MLD of water will be treated daily and used for cleaning the premises and irrigating plants. This initiative will ensure the project meets international standards and becomes more attractive, especially for European markets.
Electricity and Water Arrangements
This park will have a daily electricity consumption of approximately 150 MW. Of this, 10 MW of electricity will be directly sourced from solar panels. Additionally, water from industries will be purified within 24 hours to have no environmental impact.
Facilities for Laborers
Special facilities will also be provided for laborers and employees within the park. Facilities such as a 3500-bed hostel, dormitories, a hospital, a commercial complex, and a petrol pump will be developed. This way, laborers will not have to worry about accommodation, health, and daily needs.
Where are the parks being built in other states
This park being built in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh will be the country's first and largest. In addition, plans for PM MITRA Textile Parks are underway in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu; Warangal, Telangana; Navsari, Gujarat; Kalaburagi, Karnataka; Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; and Amravati, Maharashtra. Construction work in these locations is still in its initial stages.
Why is this project special
The PM MITRA Textile Park in Dhar is special because the entire process, from production to export, will take place in one location. It will not only provide employment to millions but also strengthen the local economy. This park is a significant step towards making India a global textile hub.
