Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Aligarh in the last week of July. Under the proposed programme, he may inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects. These are reported to include projects related to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University (RMPU) and other large-scale development initiatives. However, the Prime Minister’s Office has not yet issued an official schedule.

According to sources, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently held a meeting with officials to review preparations and the proposed projects. The administration has been issued necessary instructions regarding security arrangements, traffic management and preparations related to the event venue.

The proposed programme is expected to include new facilities associated with the university campus, along with projects related to education, roads and urban development. RMPU is currently among the region’s prominent higher educational institutions, and academic activities at the university have been expanding steadily.

Preparations for the event have begun at the administrative level. Security agencies are inspecting potential programme venues. The police and district administration have also been directed to prepare plans for crowd management, VIP movement and traffic diversions. However, the final programme will be determined only after approval from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Modi has visited several districts of Uttar Pradesh in recent years and has inaugurated projects related to education, infrastructure and industrial development. The proposed Aligarh visit is also being viewed as part of this sequence.

For now, the administration and local residents are awaiting an official announcement regarding the Prime Minister’s proposed visit. If the programme is finalised, it could be among the largest government events held in Aligarh this year.
