Police have claimed a major breakthrough in the alleged murder case of businessman Ketan Agrawal, stating that the investigation now indicates the incident was a pre-planned conspiracy rather than an accident. According to investigators, CCTV footage, digital evidence and interrogation findings have played a key role in the probe.
Police have taken Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary into custody as the main accused in the case. According to the investigation, what appeared on social media to be a "perfect love story" allegedly concealed a carefully planned conspiracy.
According to police investigators, one of the most notable findings concerns an alleged coded signal used to execute the plan. Officials said Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary had agreed on a signalling system before the incident. Under the alleged plan, a specific movement by Siya would serve as the signal for Chetan to attack.
Investigators said the alleged plan was finalised on June 18, when the two accused allegedly conspired to lure Ketan Agrawal to a secluded location.
According to police, the incident took place near the Vinchu Kata Ridge in a secluded rocky area where all three had gone together. Based on CCTV footage and mobile location data, police claimed that Chetan Choudhary was walking behind the victim and Siya Goyal. As soon as the alleged signal was given, Chetan allegedly pushed Ketan from behind, causing him to fall from the cliff. Police alleged that both accused then fled the scene and later attempted to present the incident as an accident.

The investigation has also indicated that this was not the first alleged attempt. According to police sources, on June 14, Siya allegedly pushed Ketan during a similar attempt, but he survived after holding on to a nearby tree. Police alleged that following the failed attempt, the plan was made again on June 18 and was successful.
According to police officials, CCTV footage has been central to the investigation. Cameras at Lohagad Fort and nearby locations reportedly captured all three individuals together, while also showing a suspicious person following them. Investigators said the footage showed a man wearing a hoodie maintaining distance while following the group and engaging in suspicious activity near the location. Investigating agencies stated that this digital trail helped uncover the alleged conspiracy.
Investigators also found that accused Chetan Choudhary allegedly left his personal mobile phone at his shop to avoid location tracking and carried a mobile phone belonging to an employee to the scene. Police are also questioning that employee.
According to the police investigation, Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary were already acquainted after meeting during a business meeting. Siya is associated with the bakery business, while Chetan is involved in the dry fruits trade. Investigators believe personal relationships and mutual tensions may have led to the alleged crime. However, police said all aspects of the case remain under detailed investigation.
On social media, Ketan Agrawal and Siya Goyal were widely portrayed as an ideal couple through birthday celebrations, surprise videos and romantic posts. Police said the findings of the investigation have revealed a different reality behind that digital image.
