Even after reaching the local primary health center Pancheri, her labor faced complications. Doctors referred her to the GMC Associated Hospital, Udhampur, for further treatment.
However, the road route was completely disrupted due to the floodwaters and the overflowing stream. In such a situation, the district administration utilized a JCB to transport the woman to a safe location. Pooja Devi was seated in the front part of the JCB and then taken to a safe spot before being transferred to another vehicle to reach the hospital. The Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Saloni Rai, stated that the woman has been safely taken to the hospital and her condition is currently stable.
Areas Affected by Rain and Landslides in Doda
In Doda district, several roads and villages have been affected due to continuous rain and landslides. A significant portion of the Pancheri block is submerged in water. In Udhampur, Samba, and Kathua districts, the water levels of various rivers have crossed the flood warning levels.
The Tawi River in Udhampur has crossed the danger mark. The Basantar River in Samba and the Ujh River in Kathua are also flowing above the flood warning levels. Consequently, the administration has ordered the closure of all schools and postponed upcoming examinations.
