Russian President Putin considered the American peace plan a starting point for Russia-Ukraine talks. He warned Ukrainian troops to withdraw from occupied territories, otherwise Russia would use force to push them back.
Russia-Ukraine War: Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the American proposal to end the war between Russia and Ukraine could be considered an initial point for negotiations. Putin told the Ukrainian army that if they withdraw from the territories they occupy, hostilities would cease, otherwise Russia's large army would defeat them.
Speaking to reporters at the end of his three-day visit to Kyrgyzstan, Putin said that the proposal needs serious discussion. He emphasized that every word matters. Putin described former US President Donald Trump's plan not as a draft agreement, but as a set of issues put forward for discussion.
Warning to Ukrainian Troops
The Russian leader clarified that if Ukrainian troops do not withdraw from the territories they occupy, Russia will use force to compel their retreat. Kremlin officials have not yet given a clear response to the peace plan presented by Trump last week.

Russian Air Defense Responds
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian air defenses shot down 118 Ukrainian drones overnight over various Russian regions and the Black Sea. Meanwhile, a 53-year-old man died in a Russian drone attack in Ukraine's northern Sumy region.
Despite Trump's continuous efforts for an agreement, Putin has shown no indication of backing down from his objectives in Ukraine. Russia clarified its position, stating that the American proposal can only serve as a starting point for negotiations and should not be considered an implemented agreement.
