Bihar Assembly Session: Former Bihar Chief Minister and senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi has claimed that her son and Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, is facing a threat to his life. Rabri Devi said that there have been four attempts to assassinate Tejashwi so far, and the government is not taking it seriously. She has directly accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary as well.
Conversation with Media Outside the Legislative Council
On Friday, after the proceedings of the Bihar Legislative Council were adjourned, Rabri Devi came out with other members of her party. In a conversation with the media, she expressed concern over the safety of Tejashwi Yadav, stating that there is a conspiracy to suppress the voices of opposition leaders in Bihar. She alleged that the government is deliberately targeting Tejashwi Yadav and that there have been four attempts on his life. She has demanded that the government increase Tejashwi's security.
Serious Allegations Against BJP and JDU
Rabri Devi directly accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU), stating that Tejashwi's life is most at risk from these two parties. She said that BJP and JDU leaders are afraid of Tejashwi Yadav's popularity and are therefore plotting to eliminate him.
Rabri Devi stated that there have been four attempts to assassinate Tejashwi, but no concrete action has been taken by the government. She also made several objectionable statements, putting both parties in the dock.
Allegations of Irregularities in the Voter List
Rabri Devi also alleged that the state government and the Election Commission are conspiring to deprive the people of Bihar of their right to vote. She said that there are plans to remove the names of approximately four crore people who have gone to work outside Bihar from the voter list.
She stated that due to the lack of employment, crores of people from Bihar are forced to work in other states. However, the government is neglecting them and is now trying to deprive them of their right to vote.
Reference to the Accountant General's Report
Referring to the Accountant General's report, Rabri Devi said that there has been a scam of over 72 thousand crore rupees in the state. She accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, alleging that since the BJP government came to power at the center, there has been a flood of scams in the country. Rabri Devi also said that the central government is engaged in selling off important institutions of the country and is abolishing the rights of the poor.
Personal Comments on Samrat Choudhary
Rabri Devi also made personal comments on Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, stating that he has engaged in objectionable behavior in the past. She added that Samrat Choudhary's old record is known to everyone, and now he is also damaging the dignity of the House.
She said that they are not people who use abusive language, but BJP leaders are making personal comments about family members in the House. Rabri Devi claimed that people from the ruling party do not want the House to function and are conspiring to weaken democracy.
Opposition's Protest on the SIR Issue as Well
Rabri Devi also attacked the government regarding the SIR (State Industrial Report). She said that this report is not in the interest of the people of Bihar, and the opposition will continue to protest against it. She stated that the state government is avoiding giving answers. She said that they have been besieging the assembly for the last five days and demanding answers in the interest of the public. Rabri clarified that the protest will continue until the government gives the correct answers.
