According to the revised order issued by Rajasthan Roadways, the fare for ordinary service buses has been increased by 10 paise per kilometer, now making it 95 paise. The new fare for semi-deluxe buses is Rs 1.10, for deluxe (non-AC) Rs 1.25, and for air-conditioned buses, the fare is Rs 1.80 per kilometer. Super luxury AC buses now have a fare of Rs 2.10 per kilometer, which is the highest increase. This revision will apply equally to both roadways and private buses operating within the Rajasthan border.
Clarification from Transport Corporation
According to RSRTC Chairperson Shubhra Singh, this fare revision has been made in accordance with the notification from the state government. Although the fare has been increased, there has been no change in the surcharge levied on passengers. This will directly affect the pockets of ordinary passengers, who will now pay more for every category of bus service. The corporation has clarified that this decision will only be applicable within the boundaries of Rajasthan.
