Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan: India Will Not Compromise on Security

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan on the occasion of the commissioning of two new stealth frigates of the Indian Navy, INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri. He said that India wants peace, but will not compromise on security and sovereignty.

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday (August 26, 2025) issued a clear warning to Pakistan during the commissioning ceremony of two multi-mission stealth frigates of the Indian Navy, INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, at the Eastern Naval Command. He stated that India never wants war, but if its security and sovereignty are attacked, it is capable of giving a precise and decisive response.

The Defence Minister also praised the role of the Indian Navy during Operation Sindoor and said that if the Navy had been given a full opportunity to retaliate, the results would have been even more different.

The Indian Navy's Responsibility in Operation Sindoor

Rajnath Singh said that after the Pahalgam attack, India successfully conducted Operation Sindoor to give a befitting reply to the terrorists. He said, "Terrorists targeted innocent civilians, but India responded thoughtfully and precisely. Through Operation Sindoor, we were successful in eliminating terrorist hideouts from the root."

The Defence Minister also clarified that India is never aggressive, but does not tolerate any threat to its security. The Navy's strategy and deployment of warships have been very effective, which has also sent a precise message to Pakistan.

India's Defence Policy – Peace and Retaliation

Rajnath Singh reiterated that India's policy is peace, but not at the cost of compromise. He said, "We retaliate not for the sake of showing power, but to ensure security. When our security is attacked, India does not back down. Giving a befitting reply is our strength."

He also said that India's strength lies not only in the army but also in national unity, discipline, and dedication. In times of challenges, the country stands united to face terrorism and any external threat.

The Nation's Unity Against Terrorism

The Defence Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the entire country is united against terrorism. He also stated that the campaign is not over yet and the operation to eliminate terrorist hideouts will continue.

Rajnath Singh made it clear that India is capable of taking precise and decisive steps against terrorism and extremism, but its aim is only to maintain peace and security.
